The File Folder: aging out from foster care in Canada

Violet-Rose Pharoah has been in foster care for several years. Recently she started a blog that allows individuals who were in care to share their experiences. The blog provides children in care, and youth who are leaving care with emotional support. Violet-Rose remembers how lonely  she felt when she left care, and she knows that even today many youth feel the same way. With this blog, she hopes, to show other kids that they are not alone.

The film was a part of the Master’s thesis: http://blogs.ubc.ca/irinasedunova/aging-out/ and was published by The Tyee: https://thetyee.ca/News/2013/09/09/Public-Service-Canada-Kickstart/
